The Godfather

Okay, so pretty much every film critic with any reputation ranks 1972's The Godfather among the top 5 or 10 films of all time. The American Film Institute ranks it at #2, right behind Citizen Kane. But Brooke hadn't ever seen it before, and I had never watched all of it in one sitting, from beginning to end. So, since we were recently given the whole trilogy in a DVD gift set, we decided to watch it.

And as soon as it ended, Brooke said, "Okay, now let's watch Part II!" So we did, a day or two later. Wow! Epic films. Even the sequel is ranked in the Film Institutes top 40 films. Some people even say Part II is better than Part I, but I don't know about that.

By Part III, Michael Corleone is an older man. We haven't watched that one yet, but probably will soon...
