Up

Every year, Disney releases a new Pixar film that seems even richer and more thoughtful than the last. (Next year's offering will be Toy Story 3; last year's was Wall-E). Brooke and I both thoroughly enjoyed Up, a cute, colorful, and funny story whose hero is an adventerous old man attempting to honor his late wife's memory. It has some touching sequences that make you want to cry, and some hilarious ones involving remarkable animals that keep you laughing. Ultimately, it's about a man's coming to grips with changes in the world and making the remaining years of his life matter. We loved it!
